The deal is done: Moulder to Seneca

From the distance of Seneca to Walhalla, Seneca leaders have admired Scott Moulder during his years as Oconee County administrator. They officially brought Moulder into their fold yesterday with a three-year contract at $169.5 thousand a year. In Seneca, Moulder will succeed Greg Dietterick, whose retirement date is June 30. In the interim, Diettrerick will help Moulder with the transition. Moulder’s first day with Seneca will be Monday, May 14. Moulder’s resignation, a surprise to some but not to others, was made during Tuesday’s County Council meeting. Yesterday Edda Cammick, county council chairwoman, identified Rick Martin, director of the county Rock Quarry as the top candidate to be interim county administrator. Again yesterday Moulder referred to circumstances that led him to sour on his eight-year job as county administrator, but he would not be specific. He described the discord he felt at the county level as something he will keep between him and his god. It was a pro-Moulder crowd that assembled in the City Hall conference room for the contract signing. Included were Mayor Dan Alexander, city administrator Dietterick, several city councilmen and department heads, and two county councilmen Julian Davis and Paul Cain. They admire Moulder and believe Seneca has made a good hire. Cain referred to Moulder as “a thoroughbred” when it comes to getting the job done.
