“That’s where the war is headed–Africa”

Early next week Senator Lindsey Graham will join Ivanka Trump, daughter of President Trump, on a mission to Africa which, in Graham’s view, has the potential to be the world’s next hot spot. Standing in the Harry Hamilton Auditorium at Seneca High School Saturday, Graham told reporters he’s African continent-bound because Africa “is where the war is headed.” As Islamists are being driven from the Mideast, Graham sees Africa as fertile ground for supporters of militancy and fundamentalism, and the Republican from Oconee is especially worried there are five African counties in jeopardy of collapse and that Islamists will fill the void left by mass migrations. The mission for both Graham and the President’s daughter is a World Bank development program. Once fierce political opponents, Graham and President Trump are now allies—politically and socially. Graham also told reporters he was at home yesterday when the phone rang. It was the President inviting him for a round of golf in Virginia. Graham, however, declined, telling the President he was going instead to the Republican Party convention in his home county of Oconee.
