Texie Broome
Westminster – Texie Bruce Broome, 84, passed Saturday, April 15th, 2023 at the Cottingham Hospice House.
Born in Oconee County, South Carolina, Texie was the daughter of the late Sam Pettigrew Bruce and Mary Holbrooks Bruce. Texie was retired from Valenite, and was the former owner of Broome’s Florist. She had a great passion for cooking and enjoyed the holidays while spending time with her family, and was an avid fan of country music and Elvis.
Texie is survived by her son, Bruce Broome and wife Jennifer; a daughter, Renae B. Gilliam and husband Roger; four grandchildren, Josh Cope, Tim Broome (Taylor), Michael Broome, James Broome; and two great grandchildren, Danielle Broome and Blake Cope.
Texie is preceded in death by her parents, her son, Bradley Broome; a brother Jack Bruce and a grandson, “B.J.” Blake Joseph Cope.
A Funeral Service will be held 4:30 pm, Friday, April 21st, 2023, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with burial to follow at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the services 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm, Friday, April 21st, 2023 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
