Test site this Saturday in Walhalla

Walhalla’s James Brown Elementary this weekend will be the location for another Prisma Health COVID-19 community tests for the virus which is spiking across South Carolina.  The Walhalla tests will be given between 10 am and 2 pm Saturday and are free to the public.  Prisma officials caution that the testing site is intended only for free tests.  Doctor-ordered tests for patients who already have providers have completed a virtual visit or need pre-surgery testing should take place at hospital-based sites as instructed by their providers. The announcement came yesterday on the same day that South Carolina recorded 582 new cases and two additional deaths.  The deaths were those of elderly people in Charleston and Lexington counties.  Among the new cases counted were six in Oconee, seven in Pickens, six in Anderson, and 91 in Greenville.  The new South Carolina case count has passed 19,000; the death toll is 602.
