Talking new library at Seneca

Library board chairmans and library system directors have come and gone in Oconee County without achieving a library to replace Seneca’s more than 50-year old building. Maybe that’ll change under a new echelon of the library leaders. The Oconee library board and its new members got to know each other last night in Seneca, and it was a chance for their new chairwoman to call for a new Seneca library. Beverly Brackett, a reference librarian in her career with a degree from the University of Alabama, said a new Seneca library is on her bucket list. “That Seneca branch should be larger and grander than anyone has ever seen,” Brackett said at the opening of last night’s meeting of the library board of trustees.
