Taking the sting out of an EF 3 tornado

Even more than one year later, Seneca and surrounding area remain in a part re-build from the fierce winds wrought by an EF3 tornado.  Some sting from that April 2020 event has been soothed by an action of the state lawmakers in Columbia.  City Administrator Scott Moulder announced last night Seneca will receive $2.5 million dollars in an infrastructure grant from the state, in large part, due to the efforts of Rep. Sandifer and Sen. Alexander.  A large part of the city’s electric power system was destroyed in the path of the tornado, and the city has targeted both the state and national governments for monies to help it recoup some of the costs.
