Swearing in the newly-elected

Probate Judge Kenny Johns will do the honors Tuesday in swearing into office three members of the Oconee County Council.  All three were winners in the November General Election.  Scheduled to take the oath for four-year terms:  the re-elected Julian Davis in District Four and the re-elected Glenn Hart in District Five.  Matthew Durham is the one newcomer to the council.  He succeeds Wayne McCall in District Two.  The brief ceremony is set for 5:30 Tuesday evening in the council chambers and will precede the first Tuesday council meeting, which will serve as the council’s organization meeting for 2021.  Because of COVID-19, limited in-person attendance is in effect for the meetings.  One way to follow what the county’s elected leaders are doing is to click on the county’s YouTube channel, which can be accessed through the county’s website at Oconeesc.com.
