Supplemental funding will allow for recreation upgrades

Nearly $23 billion of supplemental funding will allow the Army Corps of Engineers to carry out infrastructure enhancements associated with the rivers and lakes in Georgia and South Carolina, including locations in Oconee County.  Of that $23 billion, the corps of engineers will be able to allot $1.4 million for the following Lake Hartwell projects:  Restroom repair at Singing Pines and Broyles Recreation areas; camp site repair at Springfield Campground, procure and install new catenary and bar screen trash racks with automatic mechanical trash rake system, and replace failed Clemson Pump Station diesel pumps and right-angle drives.  The money comes from new two laws:  the Infrastructure and Investment and Jobs Act and the 2022 Disaster Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act.
