Summer studies add up to diplomas

A ceremony this week recognized 16 Oconee County students who attained high school diplomas this summer in summer school.  Six of the 16 students attended the ceremony and heard Dr. Thorsland, the district superintendent, say he was proud that the students reached the important milestone on their lives.  Each principal of the high school students presented the diplomas.  The graduates also received handshakes from the five county school board trustees.  Monday night’s ceremony ended with the traditional changing of the tassels, followed by the students recessing to “Pomp and Circumstances”.
