Subway among the changes in store for intersection area

A new Subway restaurant, a Publix supermarket, and a Q-T convenience store are among the changes that will affect Seneca’s busy 123-130, the East End intersection. Ed Halbig, the planning and community development director, says his city will look to the South Carolina DOT to figure out how to accommodate the traffic as safely and as efficiently as possible. During a City Hall public meeting last night, Halbig said there’s been some thought that the DOT might close the nearby Mill Road, which parallels the Publix project. Another issue raised is whether the state can justify four-laning the section of SC 130/the Rochester Highway to as far as, perhaps, the traffic lights at the Old Seneca-Clemson Highway.
