Storm shutters U-S Forest offices and recreation sites

For health and safety reasons, the U-S Forest Service has closed areas within the Andrew Pickens District of the Sumter National Forest. Officials strongly recommend that, because of expected wind and rainfall, the public should not use trails or general forest areas. Anyone planning a visit to either the Sumter or Francis Marion national forests should seriously considering postponing their visit until the threat of Michael diminishes. All overnight camping within the Andrew Pickens District was cut off effective 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon.
