Stolen van recovered, its occupants arrested

Two Fair Play residents living in what authorities say was a van stolen from a restaurant were in jail today in Oconee County, and they face further legal difficulties in two other counties.  James Austin Beam and Jessica Olivia Duffney were arrested after two Oconee officers determined the van found on the Durham Road had been reported stolen in May from the Anderson County side of Townville.  The Oconee Sheriff’s Office released warrants charging 32-year old Duffney with possession of a stolen 1998 Ford Windstar and warrants charging 29-year old Beam with burglary third degree second offense, grand larceny, and malicious injury to property. A spokesman for the Oconee Sheriff’s Office said holds on Duffney have been placed by McCormick County and on Beam by Anderson County.
