STEVEN CARWILE

Seneca– Steven Wallace Carwile, 67, husband of Ann Truesdale Carwile, went home to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, March 19th, 2024.

 

Mr. Carwile was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, on August 1st, 1956, son of the Gloria Glymph Carwile and the late John Preston Carwile. Steve was a 1979 graduate of Clemson University and also received a Master of Education, in Business Administration in 1991.  He retired from the Army National Guard and the Oconee County School District after having taught Special Education and served as the Assistant Director. Mr. Carwile was a member of the Clemson Sertoma Club, where he was known for his many years of service, helping raise funding for disadvantaged children to attend Camp Hope in Clemson.  Mr. Carwile was a devoted and loving son, husband, father, and grandfather.

 

He is survived by his wife, Ann Truesdale Carwile, and his mother, Gloria Glymph Carwile of Union, South Carolina; two sons, Jonathan Edward Carwile (Julie) and grandchildren, Lily Ann Carwile and Kevin Carwile of Charleston, South Carolina; and son Steven Preston Carwile (Haley) of Clemson, South Carolina; brother, Brooks Carwile of Union, South Carolina; and sisters, Allison Carwile Wilson (Phil) of Inman, South Carolina, Gail Carwile Hamrick (Wardlaw) of Gaffney, South Carolina.  

 

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 23rd, 2024, at Trinity Baptist Church with visitation to follow the service.  Graveside services will be held Saturday at 4:00 pm, with full military honors at Long Cane Cemetery in Abbeville.

 

The family is at the residence.
