STEM Start visit to Seneca’s BASF

Twenty-seven STEM students and program sponsors from Clemson University have a better understanding of precious metals recycling, thanks to Seneca’s BASF operations.  The STEM Start program is designed to offer first-generation college students the tools, experience, and support needed to excel in their STEM education and future careers.  During their visit last week, students toured the production departments of BASF Environmental Catalysts and Metals Solutions. The program is open to all admitted Summer Start and Fall Start students from South Carolina who are first-generation college students majoring in STEM fields.  The participants are also touring other business such as BMW, Arthrex, Prisma Health, and the Department of Natural Resources.
