Statement from Prisma Health

The following is a statement from Prisma Health:

“Prisma Health remains committed to ensuring that we vaccinate as many eligible people as we can based on the supplies we are allocated. While many Prisma Health sites take walk-ins on a limited basis, the number of walk-in slots available will likely change every day based on the vaccine availability at that site. Community members are urged to check online at www.PrismaHealth.org/Vaccine or, if they don’t have internet access, to call us at 833-2PRISMA (833-277-4762).

Prisma Health will calculate its vaccine availability for walk-ins several times during the day based on those scheduled and arrived appointments. The www.PrismaHealth.org/Vaccine website will update in real time, with those sites still open for walk-ins listed in green. Sites that no longer have walk-in availability for that day are marked in red.

Prisma Health’s mass-vaccination site in Greenville, located at the former Kmart near Greenville Memorial Hospital, is not taking first-dose walk-ins tomorrow (this Friday). It will take already-scheduled Friday appointments, as well as second-dose walk-ins. Due to the lack of vaccine supply, it will be closed this Saturday and have a delayed start this coming Monday, when it will open at noon. Those with scheduled appointments are already being rescheduled into slots next week.

Prisma Health reopened limited walk-in COVID-19 vaccinations yesterday to assist those in Phase 1a and individuals 70 and older who do not have computer access. We re-opened the walk-in process to help those in our communities who do not have easy access to online scheduling. We stand by our communities and will do everything we can, as quickly and as efficiently as we can, to get shots in arms for those who are eligible for vaccines at this stage. Please know that we are working very hard on all the details in an environment that is changing rapidly. We are asking the public for their patience.

Prisma Health today also announced the addition of its new vaccination site in Laurens County. The site will be in partnership with Laurens County, the City of Laurens and Presbyterian College. The site opens Monday and replaces the Laurens County Hospital site. (The new site, based at The Ridge at Laurens, will run Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.- 4 p.m. The Ridge is located at 301 Exchange Road, Laurens.)

The following locations are set up for limited walk-in first vaccine doses, pending supply (check the web site daily):

Gamecock Park, 22 National Guard Road, Columbia
Kmart site at 1 Kmart Plaza, Greenville (Note, will not have first dose walk-ins for Friday, Jan. 29)
Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital
