State revenue agents arrest Pickens County man

 

Agents from the South Carolina Department of Revenue arrested a Pickens County man on charges of forgery and furnishing a false tax document.  According to the DOR, Six Mile resident Ricardo Antonio Ramos is accused of filing a state individual income tax return in which he allegedly claimed a $31 thousand credit in February 2019.  He also allegedly claimed $988 in income tax withheld when actual holdings totaled $168.  According to the arrest warrant, in May 2019 Ramos altered a W-2 form submitted to the revenue department.  If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of one year in prison or a $5 thousand fine, or both, for furnishing a false tax document and three years and a fine at the court’s discretion for forgery.
