State police announce charges against ex-deputy

The state police are announcing the arrest and charges against a former Pickens County sheriff’s deputy who is accused of tasing an individual 17 times last summer.  SLED’s announcement contains the charges of misconduct in office and assault and battery second degree against James William Trotter.  Arrest warrants accuse Trotter of committing the crimes August 30 while employed as a deputy on Pace Bridge Road in rural Pickens County.
