State DOT’s paving plans for Oconee

A near 6.5 mile section of SC 11 in Oconee County is going to get attention next year by the road pavers.  That stretch of 11, from South Union Road north to Armstrong Road, is among the paving jobs for which the DOT will seek contractors’ bids.  Other projects for the 2022 are secondary 24 (Country Junction/Burnt Tanyard Rd) from highway 11 to Sand Bottom Lane (6.13 miles); secondary-88 (Welcome Church Road) from US 76 to s-89 (Berry Farm Rd.) (3.53 mi); and some full-depth patching on s-88 (Welcome Church Rd) from s-89 (Berry Farm Rd) to s-160 (Cleveland Pike Rd.) (1.84 mi).  Brittany Harriott, public information officer, says highway 107 from the Fish Hatchery Road to the North Carolina line project award is pending.  The low bidder is King Asphalt.  Its bid was nearly $1.5 million.  The completion date is to be August 30, 2022.
