State cabinet member makes Oconee visit

Jerry Dyar and the staff of the Oconee Veterans Office in Walhalla met the state’s first secretary of veterans affairs.  The newly-appointed Maj. Gen. Will Grimsley made an Oconee County visit today–a chance for him to become familiar with one of the state’s 46 county offices as well as a chance for Oconee veteran officials to meet him.  Dyar, the long-time county V-A officer, was impressed, saying Grimley brings some new ideas to a post that used to referred to as South Carolina Veterans Affairs Director.
