Speedway to enter the fuel business along I-85

Q-T has started selling gas and food stuffs in Seneca.  Another fuel supplier seeks              a location near I-85 location in Oconee County.  And last night the county board of zoning appeals approved  variances to sign height regulations for Speedway’s plans at exit 4.  Representing the applicant, Bob Cash told the board that Speedway wants permission for signs high enough to be seen by passing traffic on the interstate highway.  One Fair Play resident, Kenneth Jackson Jr., raised questions about the potential for sign pollution impacting nearby homes.  In the end, however, the board deemed the application meets the requirements for approval.
