Special exhibit to arrive in Westminster

The Smithsonian is including Westminster as one of a half dozen small South Carolina communities to display its Water/Ways exhibition.  That exhibit will be available for public viewing starting this Saturday – and continuing through April 17—at the Westminster Historic Train Depot on Main Street.  The Smithsonian, the museum of natural history, has this to say about the exhibit”  “In societies across the globe, water serves as a source of peace and contemplation….Water also plays a practical role in American society.  The availability of water affected settlement and migration patterns.”  Westminster draws its raw water supply from the Chauga River, and the city serves as a gateway to nearby Wild and Scenic Chattooga River.  Mayor Brian Ramey credits Jessica Glymph with landing the exhibit.  She and her husband, city policeman Dale Glymph, are Westminster promoters and actively volunteer to help bring visitors to the city.
