Special adoption proceedings held Monday

Chief Justice Donald Beatty authorized special adoption proceedings on Monday, and a Family Court judge from Anderson, Edgar Long, was among six jurists statewide who allowed 80 children to be adopted into 60 families.  In 2018-19, more than 1,600 adoption cases were filed across the state. Beatty said, “We at the Judicial Branch are pleased to play a role in helping provide stability and security for children.”
