South Carolina pours money into added food benefit

South Carolina DSS announces the allotment of $154 million in federal SNAP benefit money as a one-time benefit to help families supplement food costs.  Eligible for the benefit are families impacted by the pandemic, the prolonged school closings, and whose children are enrolled in a free or reduced-price school meals program.  The benefit is called P-EBT.  Every dollar in federally-funded SNAP benefits is calculated to generate between $1.50 and $1.80 in economic activity.
