South Carolina Democats will choose among 14

One thing you can say about those who vote Democratic in South Carolina, they’ll have many men and women to choose among in the state’s Presidential primary election. That Presidential preference primary will take place Saturday, February 29. The state Election Commission lists the names of 14 candidates whose names will be on the ballot. They are Michael Bennet, Joseph Biden, Cory Booker, Pete Buttigieg, Julian Castro, Tulsi Gabbard, Amy Klobuchar, Deval Patrick, Bernie Sanders, Tom Steyer, Elizabeth Warren, Marianne Williamson, and Andrew Yang. One well known Democratic name is missing from the ballot. It’s that of billionaire and former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg. He, we are told, has apparently chosen to skip the South Carolina primary to concentrate on other states. Democrats and other qualified voters are eligible to vote in the Presidential preference primary, because it is considered an open primary that does not require voters to be affiliated with a political party in order to vote for partisan candidates.
