Social event marked Salem achievement

About 100 people helped celebrate an achievement for Salem.  On Friday night grand opening took place for the Eagles Nest Art Center, in the renovated Tamassee-Salem school auditorium.  The celebration featured a blessing delivered by a former school alumnus, pastor Frankie Porter.  The facility is now rated at 299-seat capacity and is to be the venue for a variety of events, including Eagles Nest Charter School events, church events plays, and the like. Lynn Martin, supporter of the art center, says a 501c3 non-profit has been established and renovation work has brought the facility up to code.
