Sirens test this morning

If you hear sirens wail shortly before noon today, chances are it’s nothing more than a test. Duke Energy and Oconee County officials plan a test this morning of the emergency sirens around the nuclear plant. It’s a scheduled three-minute test at 11:50 am that requires no public action. The test is conducted to assure each of the 65 sirens within 10 miles of Oconee Nuclear works properly.
