Short term rental proposal likely to attract crowd

The additional seats recently placed in the council chambers at Seneca city hall could come in handy Monday night when the planning commission is scheduled to take up a short-term home rental ordinance. The conditions under which the city may allow short term rentals has, to some, been a bone of contention for about one year. Still pending in the circuit court is a White Oak Cliffs couple’s challenge that the rules applied to them were unconstitutional. But it’s not just an issue of interest to Leonard and Julie Chace. Nearby Normandy Shores home owners are following it, also, and Flo Riley, the president of the homeowners’ group, says an email blast was sent to the membership alerting them to Monday’s meeting.
