Short pants inappropriate in courtroom setting

The Oconee General Sessions Court judge recessed a trial this afternoon when he spotted a witness approaching the stand wearing short pants. Judge Scott Sprouse ordered the trial of SC v. Aaron Catchings recessed until the witness returns in dress appropriate for a courtroom. The witness cited by the judge is identified as the victim of the burglary and larceny charges filed against Catchings. The case involves charges that arose from a 2017 incident in Seneca, at an after school center on WN 1st Street. In the abbreviated start to the trial, defendant Catchings was absent from the courtroom. But his attorney, Suzanne Earle, was there to represent him.
