Shirley Crooks
Westminster– Shirley Ann Smith Jefferson Crooks, 76, wife of Thornton E. Crooks, passed away on Monday, April 11th, 2022 at Prisma Health – Oconee Memorial Hospital.
Born in Westminster, South Carolina, Shirley was the daughter of the late Virgil Thomas Smith and Ruby Estelle Smith. Shirley previously worked for Dunlop, attended Harvest Church, and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her many grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband; sons, David Brian Jefferson (Sonja), Brian Keith Crooks (Brittney), Steve Crooks (Michelle); daughters, Shirl Bryson (Doug), Teresa Belcher (Willie); brothers, Frank Smith, Johnny Smith; sisters, Cecil Barker, Beaulah Buchanan, Dorothy Duncan; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren
In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her daughter, Jacqueline Denise Jefferson; brothers, Melton Smith, Jack Smith, Donald Smith, David Smith; infant brother, Luther Smith; and sister, Samille Barnes.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm prior to the service at Sandifer Funeral Home.
