Sheriff’s Office statement on three-year old’s death

Master Deputy Jimmy Watt, spokesman for the Oconee Sheriff’s Office, released the following statement this afternoon on the investigation of the death near Walhalla of three-year old Robbie Prang: “Deputies began an inquiry on Saturday into a three year old juvenile who was found unresponsive in a pool on Saturday and that investigation is continuing.  At this time, after speaking with Captain Greg Reed with the Criminal Investigations Division, there is no new information or updates to share and due to that fact, we will not be releasing any further information at this time.  Around 2:45pm Saturday, dispatchers received a call from the Walhalla area regarding a unresponsive juvenile who was found in a pool.  The pool was not located at the residence where the juvenile lived but was located at another address on the same road.  When deputies arrived, medical personnel on scene were performing life saving measures on the juvenile and she was transported to the hospital.  Due to the fact that the inquiry involves a juvenile, the Sheriff’s Office will not be releasing any information on the location where the incident occurred or information concerning the names of the parents.”
