Sewer South property owners to be compensated

Monies are to be set aside to pay to I-85 corridor property owners for their consent as the Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority embarks on the project to extend piped sewer to interstate highway.  Those property owners will be asked to surrender easements to allow the county to build the necessary infrastructure that, it’s hoped, will open the possibilities for I-85 development that’ll provide jobs and bolster the county’s tax base.  At this point, Chris Eleazer of the JRSA, said this about how much will be expended for easements:  “We currently are still in the process of getting those appraisals complete.  We hope to have that finished within the next 10 days, I hope.”
