Sewer Authority’s new digs just about ready

Work to remodel the Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority’s administration/operations building in Seneca is in final stages, and yesterday the staff started to occupy their new space. For months, they’ve been confined to temporary trailers brought onto the grounds at Return Church Road. The project, carried out by contractor Hogan Construction of Powdersville, represents the first major work of the county’s sewer operations which officially started in the year 1980. Hogan gave the JRSA a guaranteed maximum price of $1.6 million and it appears, according to the JRSA’s Chris Eleazer, the job will be completed “just under” that figure. In the weeks and in the months since the property became a construction zone, the JRSA commissioners have held their meetings at locations in the three member cities: Seneca, Walhalla, and Westminster.
