Settlement ahead in Chattooga River death case

101.7/WGOG NEWS has learned a settlement could be reached in a few months in a four-year old case alleging wrongful death of a Chattooga River rafter.  According to an Oconee court officer, paperwork awaits a judge’s ruling to settle the case of the estate of a Florida man against a rafting company and two of its guides.  The estate of Tom Hill filed a Common Pleas Court lawsuit alleging wrongful death of the paint company sales manager. The body was recovered 17 days after Hill took, what the lawsuit alleges, was his first rafting adventure in a dangerous section of the river.
