Series of new sidewalks ahead for Seneca

All of a sudden, Seneca is primed to catch up with a lot of needed sidewalk work.  Scott Moulder, the city administrator, last night announced that the DOT is scheduling as many as 20-25 sidewalk projects throughout the city, the first being the new sidewalks for a one-block section of N. 1st between Fairplay and Townville streets. Moulder gave a progress report to the mayor and council on the sidewalk, decorative light poles, utility work that has started on the N. 1st Street section.  He described the merchants along that section as excited for the improvements, but has told them that, for a six-hour period during the next few of weeks, their front door access will be blocked. It’s likely two more weeks will be needed before the new sidewalk concrete is poured there.
