Seneca’s turn for virus recovery money could be next

Salem and Westminster have been approved for money.  Seneca’s turn could come next when it comes to divvying up the county’s share of “Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund” money for Oconee County.  Last night the county attorney was directed to prepare a draft ordinance that could send as much as $3 million to Seneca, the county’s largest municipality, for what’s described as critical water and wastewater infrastructure improvements, both inside and outside the city.  Glenn Hart, who represents a county council district outside Seneca’s corporate limits, said he’d like to see at least some of the $3 million spent inside low income neighborhoods in both Perry Hill community and Utica Mill Hill.
