Seneca’s JROTC earns honor distinction

The Army JROTC Department at Seneca High School received its first formal JROTC Program for Accreditation Inspection last month and earned “Honor Unit with Distinction” honors. Army JROTC units are evaluated every four years by the U.S. Army’s Cadet Command of Fort Knox, KY. This inspection is administered to all JROTC units to ensure that units are adhering to AdvancED Standards for Accreditation regarding Cadre instructional proficiency and Cadet learning. Seneca’s Army JROTC Bobcat Battalion earned a score of 96 out of 100 resulting in the unit earning the “Honor Unit with Distinction” status. Those units that earn the Honor Unit with Distinction status have the opportunity for its cadets to apply for an appointment to the military academies.
