Seneca to attack the pesky mosquito population

Seneca is about to start a four-month effort to eradicate the city of its mosquito population.  Mosquitoes are known for their bites and their ability to transmit serious diseases.  Starting Friday night, June 12 the Seneca Public Works Department will start spraying every two weeks on Fridays until late September.   Here are some things to keep in mind in advance of the spraying:  the Friday night sprayings will start around 8:30; No spraying will be done if it is raining; if there are people close to the area, the workers are required to turn off the machine and wait until the truck gets past them; and if you have bee hives inside Seneca’s corporate limits, contact the Public Works office ahead of time at 864/885-8250 or email [email protected].
