Seneca shooting suspect moved to local jail

A suspect in a late July shooting in Seneca has been moved to the Oconee jail—after having been apprehended in a motel room in Cherokee, North Carolina.  Chief John Covington of the Seneca Police said this about the case his department is pursuing against Kendal Ann Ellis:  “As far as anyone else being charged, that is still under active investigation so further charges may be possible.  We were able to determine that the motive was ongoing personal dispute between the suspect and the victim (acquaintances), and the victim has since been released from the hospital.”  The Seneca police identified Ellis as their suspect in a Friday, July 24 wounding of a male on N. Stribling Street.  A male, not identified by name, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and eventually was hospitalized in Greenville. Suspect Ellis was apprehended by tribal police in Cherokee.
