Seneca properties in “holding pattern” for future development

Two properties on Seneca’s Old Salem Road were placed into a holding pattern during a meeting last night at City Hall. The properties owned by Lake Keowee Marina cover 8.5 acres, are currently undeveloped, and sit across Old Salem Road from Camilla Lane. At the request of re-zoning applicant, a limited liability company based in Central, the Seneca Planning Commission voted to recommend a new zoning classification, PDU—Planned Development Undeveloped. As explained by Barry Duvall, the planning commission chairman, the re-zoning recommendation buys time for the developers to come up with a plan and reserves the right of the commission to review the future plans.
