Seneca man arrested on drug and weapon charges

A search warrant served by law enforcement yesterday in Seneca landed a 42-year old man in jail and resulted in the confiscation of what drug officers say were a firearm and a quantity of narcotics.  Gary Landon Medlin was jailed yesterday afternoon after county drug officers, with help from the Seneca police, served the warrant at an address of Evergreen Circle at Shadow Lane.  The Oconee Sheriff’s Office announced the following charges against Medlin:   distribution of heroin, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, and the introduction of contraband into the jail.  According to the Sheriff’s Office, jail guards found narcotics on Medlin as he was being booked.  Narcotics agents say there was a controlled purchase by an undercover operative of narcotics earlier this year on Evergreen Circle.
