Seneca hotel construction halted

Some Seneca residents have been complaining about the sediment that has cropped up in their cove of Lake Keowee near the 123 By-Pass, and they trace the erosion there to the construction of the new Fairfield Inn by Marriott. Dave Arnold brought his complaint to last night’s city council meeting. Arnold’s question of what, if anything, is being done to alleviate the situation elicited response from Scott Moulder, city administrator, that a halt has been declared to the construction work while the project’s engineer is required to come up with a remedy. “They are stopped right now,” Moulder said.
