Seneca fire fighters to pinch hit for Walhalla

On Monday the Walhalla Fire Department will be operated by the Seneca Fire Department. Walhalla Chief Brandon Burton says his entire department will spend Monday at the Stumphouse Mountain Park in rescue training and learning the new trails created by the mountain bike park. Burton told the city council that, as the new trails open, more and more people are visiting the park. The city fire fighters, who have medical training, want to be ready for the mountain biking and hiking season to answer calls. Part of Monday’s training will be techniques in rope rescues. While the Walhalla fire fighters train on the mountain, their station will be manned by equipment and personnel on loan from Seneca.
