Seneca auto theft investigation leads to arrest

An Anderson County man was placed under the arrest of the Seneca police this week on the charge of automobile theft. Authorities identified the accused as Jason Durell Sims, 33, of Belton. The investigation that led to Monday’s arrest started the morning of August 8, when officers were told that a male had been seen driving a 2013 Ford Mustang away from a WN 1st Street business parking lot without the permission of the owner. The value of the stolen Mustang is around $15,000. Sims was in custody at the Anderson County Detention Center and brought to the Oconee County Detention Center where he was served the arrest warrant.
