Senators concerned by potential ban on American-grown corn

Three U-S senators, including South Carolina’s Tim Scott, have written a letter of concern to the U-S trade representative and the agriculture secretary.  They are displeased by Mexico’s efforts to ban certain American-grown corn.  According to Scott’s office, the plans by the Mexican president, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, would unilaterally abandon a long-held science-based regulatory system and threaten the U-S-Mexico-Canada trade agreement.  Joining Scott in authoring the complaint are Senator Fischer of Nebraska and Senator Duckworth of Illinois.
