Senate leader sings the praises of Schneider Electric

Thomas Alexander says South Carolina’s pleasant weather along with a skilled workforce and friendly business approach are reasons that leading manufacturers are investing in the state.  Senator Alexander, the State Senate president, calls attention to this week’s Schneider Electric announcements to expand both in Richland County and in Alexander’s home county, Oconee County.  The producer of energy management technology is investing millions and creating hundreds of new jobs.  And Alexander points out that manufacturing is worthwhile for workers to spend their careers.  He quotes state Department of Employment and Workforce figures that show a more than 75% increase in the average manufacturing wage, bringing it to almost $70 thousand a year.
