Section of beat-up 123 to get new cover

A lengthy section of U-S 123, from Seneca to Westminster, is in line for nearly six and a half miles of re-paving. From Richland Road thru the city of Westminster to the area of the highway 76 intersection, this will be one of the largest highway projects this summer in Oconee County. According to the DOT’s Alan Adams, the prime contractor is King Asphalt which has the job as part of a contract including other road projects. The contract is worth $9.7 million. Adams says the stretch of 123 will receive full-depth patching and re-surfacing of about two inches asphalt.
