Second conservative declares political intent

A Lake Keowee resident declared today her intent to run for the Republican nomination this year for Seat One, Oconee County Council.  She’s Kay Keehn Knapp, whose political philosophy is conservative.  Knapp is a sister of Walhalla city councilman Grant Keehn.  She has been an audience member of county council meetings and feels it’s a good time for her to become involved in local government.  The retired school teacher counts previous government service in city council and school board in Geneva, Illinois.  In the last 24 hours, Kay Keehn Knapp is the second GOP conservative who, 101.7/WGOG NEWS has learned, has hopes to run for and win county council seats this year, with the other being Don Mize of Seneca, who admits he’s serious about running for Seat Three, County Council.
