Scott seeks to protect Medicare Advantge

A South Carolina Republican and an Arizona Democrat are part of a bi-partisan Senate effort to protect payments cuts that are being floated in their chamber.  South Carolina’s Tim Scott and Arizona’s Kyrsten Sinema have sent a letter to the administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.  Medicare Advantage, also known as Medicare Part C, makes it possible for people with Medicare A (hospital insurance) and Part B (medical insurance) to receive their benefits in an alternative way.  Medicare Advantage plans are also offered by private insurance companies contracted with Medicare.
