Scott Morgan

 

Ronald “Scott” Morgan (69) of Fair Play, SC, passed away at his home on Monday, April 10th after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.

 

Born in Macon, Georgia to Guy Preston and Sarah Frances (Allison) Morgan. Scott will be deeply missed by his wife of 44 years Sharon (Reeder) Morgan and his children who considered him their hero; Courtney (Charlie) Dayoub, Kyle (Ashley) Morgan, Brooke Morgan (Brannan Fulgham), and  Rachael Morgan. He will also be greatly missed by his two adoring granddaughters, Charley and Amelia Morgan, who called him FryDaddy, as well as, his mother-in-law, Priscilla Bunch, who considered him her best friend. He is also survived by his siblings, Lynn (Bob) McIntyre, Bonnie (Jack) Chislett and Dean (Cynthia) Morgan and sister-in-law, Pamela (Gifford) Ellis; niece, Kelly Seeley and her children Kevin and Kacey Weaver; nephew, James (Gabriella) Bryce and their children Bailey and Joey; nephews, Gabriel McIntyre; McKell (Farah) McIntyre; and nieces, Arielle McIntyre, Allison and Morgan Chislett, Sara Morgan (Steve Edison), Katherine (Andrew) Payne and many close family and friends.

 

He served with distinction and retired as a highly decorated Sergeant with the Miami Beach Police Department after a 2-year tour with the Coast Guard. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed traveling, woodworking, and reading.

 

Reverend Tavye Morgan-Triemer will conduct his celebration of life service for family and friends on Saturday, April 15, 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Scott’s honor be made to Patriot Hospice, 101 Grace Drive, Easley, SC, 29640, The Wounded Warriors Project, 4200 Morganton Road, Suite 300, Fayettevill, NC 28314  or to your local police foundations to support the Thin Blue Line.  

 

The family wants to thank Patriot Hospice for the care and respect they gave to Scott and his family during the last 8 weeks of his 14-month long battle with Uveal Metastatic Melanoma Cancer. One of Scott’s last wishes was that for everyone get their eyes checked yearly even if they have 20/20 vision.
