School worker included in next week’s safety forum

Long-time Oconee public school worker Evie Hughes will address next week’s public safety forum in Seneca.  The director of student services, safety, and security will discuss what parents should do to collect their children in the event of an active shooter incident in the district.  The 6:30 pm Tuesday forum, arranged by the Oconee Sheriff’s Office, for the auditorium at Seneca High School has as a main purpose how the general public can protect themselves should they encounter an active shooter.  According to Sheriff Mike Crenshaw, active shooting incidents are on the minds of everyone, in part, because of the numbers of incidents that occur across the country.
